This panel works to deconstruct why Stephen King is the reigning King of the horror genre by tracing the 19th-century gothic roots of horror and terror in his works. This panel will discuss King's works generally and focus on It. 


Kala Hirtle

Kala Hirtle is a PhD candidate at Dalhousie University. She is completing a dissertation on literary responses to changing medical theories in the nineteenth century, and recently won an award for an essay on Samuel Delany.
